Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director of Accounting position with a thriving organization located in Overland Park, Kansas, United States. The individual will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of our accounting department, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.Responsibilities: Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives. Issue timely and complete financial statements. Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report. Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations. Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics. Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts. Provide for a system of management cost reports. Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations. Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit. Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.Requirements Minimum of 7 years experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position Proven expertise in the month end close, strategic analysis, general ledger, and accounting close process Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to manage a team effectively Strong analytical and strategic planning skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Proficiency in accounting software and related technologies In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and standards Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information Proven problem-solving skills with attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Must uphold the highest standard of professional ethics.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
