Description We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team in the construction/contractor industry located in Overland Park, Kansas. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including processing purchase orders, managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), matching invoices, and performing a significant amount of data entry.Responsibilities: Utilize QuickBooks to manage and process various accounting activities Handle purchase orders, ensuring they are accurately prepared and tracked Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring all financial data is accurate Perform data entry tasks, maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data Match invoices to ensure consistency and accuracy in our financial records Take on additional responsibilities over time, such as reconciliation, as skills and knowledge develop Ensure all financial records are kept up-to-date and are easily accessible for review Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies in financial reports Collaborate with other team members to streamline and improve internal accounting processes Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial data. Requirements Proficiency in QuickBooks software for daily accounting tasks Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Ability to process Purchase Orders accurately and efficiently Excellent data entry skills, ensuring accurate input of financial information Knowledge of construction/contractor industry would be advantageous Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with suppliers and clients Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work Good understanding of confidentiality protocols related to financial information A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field would be advantageous.
