What You'll DoAs a Customer Specialist 1 in our Benefits & Protection services area, you’ll apply your strong customer service and computer skills daily.Your day will be filled with:

Processing customer transactions and researching/responding to inquiries about billing, eligibility, benefit changes, COBRA requests, underwriting orders, and legislative issues.

Serving as the primary contact responding to inquiries from customers through email and phone calls.

Developing and promoting positive customer relationships by consulting with and educating customers about company products and services.

Evaluating customer feedback and recommendation action to improve overall customer service and retention.

May supervise accounts for delinquency status and proactively contact the customer as the need arises.

Perform audits of accounting records as the need arises to validate customer transactions. Post premium/fees and allocate funds to appropriate accounts to ensure financial accuracy.

2+ years of customer service experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Proficient with desktop applications such as MS Office and Internet browsers.

Ability to effectively navigate within numerous software and web applications.

Ability to learn and understand a broad range of products and apply that knowledge by referencing appropriate tools and resources.

Ability to provide excellent customer service while answering questions, capturing information, and completing effective and timely applicable documentation for calls.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Analytical, organized, problem solving, attention to detail, and decision-making skills.

Have a go getter mentality and able to work under limited supervision.

COMPASS knowledge preferred.

Salary Range InformationSalary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance.
