Description Robert Half is looking for a talented, accurate Compliance Specialist to fill a contract position within an innovative company in Des Moines. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining adherence to the company's internal control systems designed to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Responsibilities: Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the Company’s compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Ensure that the company complies with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations, procedures, and standards. Monitor, and as necessary, coordinate compliance activities to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness. Collaborate with other departments to address any compliance issues and to implement corrective actions. Assist with regulatory exams and inquiries and implementing any necessary corrective actions. Develop and deliver appropriate training programs for staff in relation to compliance. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance. Requirements Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field is preferred but not necessary. Proven experience in a compliance role, preferably within financial services. In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and compliance tracking software. Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to understand and apply complex regulatory requirements to business practices. Robust attention to detail, organizational skills, and professionalism.
