Caterpillar is looking to add a skilled Senior Total Rewards Manager to our team. Your role within this team will be to manage the team responsible for U.S. healthcare and prescription drug benefits design.Responsibilities include continually monitoring large employer healthcare benefit strategies and initiatives to discover innovative ideas and best practices. Additionally, you will routinely analyze our health and prescription drug plan data to identify opportunities to improve the cost and quality of healthcare and prescription services being provided to our plan participants. You will use your research, experience, and business acumen to create and implement initiatives to enhance medical, vision, dental, and prescription drug benefits; and to participate in other sub-functions, projects, and benefit administration activities as assigned. Ensure healthcare benefits enhance our ability to recruit and retain employees

Review existing programs, propose modifications to existing programs or design new programs to ensure the achievement of a competitive market position aligned with our business and talent objectives

Lead the design and implementation of Total Rewards programs including project management, communication, change management and vendor management

Lead internal team(s) to ensure delivery of Total Rewards programs, processes, and services, ensures compliance with company or legal requirements and securely manages employee data in line with company policies

Analyze internal healthcare reports and use that information to create initiatives that improve costs and quality

Provide education to employees, leaders, and business partners on the design and value of healthcare benefits

Create and frequently refresh U.S. healthcare and prescription drug benefits strategy

Manages external vendors, ensuring delivery of service and operational metrics

Deliver plan performance presentations for various business leaders and internal business partners

Support public relations and employee relations activities related to healthcare benefit design & strategy

Assist with union negotiations as needed.

What You Have:

Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management, or related field

Minimums of 5 years’ experience as a U.S. healthcare benefits analyst, benefits manager, benefits consultant or HR Manager

Extensive knowledge of large employer benefit programs and processes; ability to design and implement legally compliant healthcare benefit programs that deliver best in class cost and quality. Comprehensive understanding of benefit regulatory requirements (e.g., ERISA, DOL, HHS, HIPAA, ACA, CAA)

Ability to analyze employer benefit plans and market trends, then compile proven best practices

Strong working knowledge of common and uncommon self-funded employer healthcare benefit designs and considerations

Experience with creating compelling business cases to support benefit design recommendations

Experience leading implementation of healthcare benefit programs and initiatives

Problem solving skills with examples of successful and innovative ideas

Proficient presentation and public speaking skills. Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors

Experience assisting employees and business leaders with benefits questions

Innovative and analytical thinker

Proficient user of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
