Cupitol Coffee & Eatery is hiring a General Manager for our Streeterville/West Loop location.

after one year 2 weeks paid vacation and insurance after 6 months

The General Manager will be responsible for front-of-house operations while providing excellent customer service.

Cupitol Managers are responsible for the following:

- Supervise the front and back of house team to include efficient staffing, team development, training, performance management and policy enforcement.

- Handle guest complaints and render decisions judiciously and tactfully.

- Promote and maintain the highest level of customer service to all guests while staying alert to their needs.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Fill in positions as needed (This includes Barista, Expeditor, Cashier)

- Periodically meets with Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, line cooks, cashiers, smoothers, runners and

baristas to plan related activities and operational procedures to ensure an efficient and profitable

operation.

- Estimates food and beverage needs and supervises purchases of produce, meats, seafood,

beverages, supplies and equipment. Receives and checks orders periodically to ensure correct

quantities and pricing.

- Supervises inventories and estimates food and beverage costs.

- Directs hiring, assignment, training, motivation, evaluation and termination of personnel.

- Supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment and arranges for repairs, contracts and other

services.

- Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints. Communicates with guests and

employees to solve problems and ensures complete guest satisfaction

- Inspects dining room, food receiving, preparation, production and storage areas to ensure that

health and safety regulations are being adhered to at all times.

- Reviews financial information such as sales and costs and monitors budgets to ensure efficient

operation and that expenditures stay within budget limitations. Takes action to prevent deviation

from budget.

- Ensures good safety practices of employees and guests throughout the restaurant. Assists in the

maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures.

- Oversees scheduling of all departments to ensure an efficient and cost effective staff.

- Oversees periodic evaluations of all personnel in restaurant

Job Requirements:

- Excellent hospitality skills

- Flexible to Open and Close (6:30am - 4:00pm)

- Experience in hospitality/restaurant industry

- Excellent communication skills

- Must be able to work shifts when needed if needed.

- Must be able to handle fast paced environments.

Description:

Cupitol is currently looking for warm, experienced service staff for our Evanston location. Duties include assisting guests with their orders at self-service counter and facilitating the guest experience at Cupitol.

The ability to multi-task is an essential component of working in this position. The Cupitol Barista, Cashier, Smoother & Food Runner divide all responsibilities throughout the day. We aspire to have an inclusive, energetic yet serious work environment.

Ideal candidates will be team-oriented and preferably have some prior retail and or coffee/espresso experience and be responsible for providing extraordinary customer service. We will provide a full hands on training. This will include full barista training.
