Description Job Title: Systems Administrator Location: Chicago, IL Our Client is a leading tech company based in Chicago, IL, looking for a proficient Systems Administrator with experience in Linux, Windows, and SQL to join our IT department in Chicago, Illinois. If you have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware, you are an ideal fit for this position. You will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting our company's computer systems. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in network design and deployment. Responsibilities: Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems. Create and verify backups of data, respond to and troubleshoot network problems. Upgrade systems by implementing and maintaining security controls. Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems Implement and manage database systems, primarily SQL Capacity, storage planning, and database performance tuning. Supervise user access process to prevent a data breach and ensure compliance with the privacy policy. Perform regular system updates, evaluate and install patches, and resolve software-related problems. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or related field. 3-5 years of experience in network administration. Experience with Linux, Windows and SQL databases. Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols. Good interpersonal skills, the ability to train, educate and supervise other staff. Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware faults. Ability to adapt quickly to new technology and implement it into the existing system. Experience with scripting and automation tools. Applicants with certifications like the MCSE, CompTIA A+, Network +, Security + and RHCE are preferred.
