Job Description:As a critical member of the Core Product organization, the Product Owner is responsible for helping drive & achieve Synchrony's business objectives by directing the teams through the development cycle. In this instance, focused on delivering a best in class Integrated Hosted Solution (IHS) experience, a Synchrony hosted point of sale channel that integrates into clients and partners software ecosystem.The IHS tool is enables critical point of sale functionality to enable prequalification requests, credit applications, authorizations, purchases and refunds. The IHS Product Owner will lead 1-2 Agile teams in the coordination and delivery of key products and capabilities, responsible for leading all team activities to bring our solution to market.The product owner role includes, but not limited to, managing the product development process, partnering with the Product Manager to set strategic direction of the platform, and then gathering the associated feature requests to align to that strategy. In this role the Product Owner will work closely with the agile development team to ensure the developed features meet the customer expectations and feature requests through development, testing, and regular updates with partners. A solid technology and operational background, combined with the ability to work closely with cross functional support teams including product managers and internal business leaders while managing the implementation are critical job requirements. This Product owner, should be skilled in Agile frameworks, able to lead a team, comfortable with ambiguity, can operate in a fast moving, agile environment, is a team player that collaborates well cross functionally and acts as an owner, proactively taking initiativeOur Way of WorkingWe're proud to offer you choice and flexibility. Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.Essential Responsibilities:

Work closely with Product Managers and Capability Product Managers to understand the customer's needs and convey that to the development teams via feature details and user stories

Ensure the team remains focused on the most valuable work through backlog and sprint-level prioritization, and act as the customer advocate within the development team as you build, launch, and iterate on new capabilities in order to deliver quality products and experiences

Gather and analyze feature requirements and distill the Acceptance Criteria into User Stories

Define and prioritize the product and sprint backlog and lead refinement sessions

Collaborate with other members of the broader team to act as a Subject Matter Expert on the content integrations when defining and capturing requirements for the Scrum Team

Participate in estimation and work planning with the Scrum Master, and manage the product release process

Review and accept development work for completeness against requirements and for overall customer experience pre and post-launch

Participate in discovery sessions for new features and projects and contribute domain knowledge and technical expertise

Set Sprint Goals for the Scrum Team, track deliverable timelines and communicate delivery dates to stakeholders

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 7+ years of product development and technology integration experience in the credit card, financial services, or technology industries

3+ years Product / Project Management experience that includes:

Leading programs over multiple releases

A proven track record of launching new products or applications with demonstrated success

Experience leading teams within the Agile Framework

Experience with Story and Requirement development

Experience with Technical Documentation recording

3+ years of experience working with custom software development teams

Action oriented - create an environment to leverage agile methodology and deliver continuous benefit to the business teams during a project

Proven experience in problem solving and negotiated solutions

Desired Characteristics:

Credit card, consumer finance, payments, financial services, or retail services industry experience.

3+ years project management within Agile Framework

Agile Coordinator or Product Owner experience and certification

Technical acumen: Kafka topics, API utilization, Data Lake integration strategy

Solid communications, relationship building, and collaboration skills.

Demonstrated solutions delivery experience, with relevant examples that improved performance and customer experience

Knowledgeable on financial services, payments industry trends, competitors, emerging technologies, and companies technical knowledge (financial services) customer experience focus

Proactive, self-starter and collaborative leader

Grade/Level: 11The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.Eligibility Requirements:

You must be 18 years or older

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
