Primary purpose: Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, the Meals Coordinator is responsible to coordinate the delivery of meals island-wide.
Essential duties/functions:
- Supervising, training, and evaluating meal delivery drivers.
- Monitor delivery drivers, meal packing and deliveries, and correct error in compliance standards.
- Schedule staff, assign routes and vehicles.
-Prepare cold pack and coolers prior to daily meal packing.
- Ensure perishable food must be maintained at 40 degrees F or lower temperature at all times and cold packs with adequate amount of ice.
- Coordinate accurate loads for delivery of meals to participants in an assigned geographic area daily in a timely and safe manner.
- Assist in establishing efficient routes and delivery schedules.
- Report client specific problems to the Program Director as soon as possible.
- Report any client related problems of emergency nature to Program Director immediately and ensure Meal Deliverers submit Incident Reports.
- Update client delivery route sheets for directions, schedule and client phone numbers.
- Documents all undelivered foods at end of day and ensures disposal of unsafe foods.
- Ensure that coolers are cleaned, disinfected and stored appropriately at the end of each day.
- Practice safe operating procedures and observe all safety regulations and precautions as prescribed by Home Delivered Meals Program Manual.
- Operates vehicle in a safe and lawful manner. Provides a sage work environment by communicating problems and suggestions for safe operation.
- Ensure all vehicles are inspected daily using the vehicle maintenance log sheet. Report to Program Director immediately, safety issues and /or vehicle damage. Submit log sheets to Program Director weekly.
- Notify Program director immediately and submits incident report form for all vehicle accidents.
- Conduce pre and post kitchen designated area clean up.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment in accordance with Department of Health requirements.
- Ensure KEO COVID-19 policies and procedures for staff, volunteers, clients work area and vehicles are followed.
- Schedule staff for restroom cleaning.
Communicate with volunteers and provides guidance on process.
- Conduct inventory. Order, purchase and maintain program equipment and supplies.
- Maintain program vehicles. Schedule regular maintenance on all vehicles. Request for urgent or emergency repairs as needed. Manage vehicle registration and safety checks.
- Monitor Drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and proper driving practices.
- Maintains records and information, submit daily communication forms and prepare accurate and timely reports related to meal delivery (attendance sheets, meals receipts, and tracking sheets), volunteer hours and vehicle maintenance.
- Schedule and attend meetings. Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Performs othre duties and assignments as required.
