Primary purpose: Assist the Director in the activities to achieve the programs objectives and goals

Essential duties/functions:
- Responsible to ensure the Emergency Shelter is clean and safe.
- Ensure Emergency Shelter policies and procedures are adhered to by guests.
- Routinely check and maintain all supplies and equipment.
- Conduct regular fire drills.
- Inform, enforce and uphold guests of all services and their rights and responsibilities.
- Maintain shelter facility, grounds, and equipment.
- Provide wake-up early wake up call for designated guests.
- Supervise in-house volunteers and complete tasks when volunteers are not present.
- Conduct mail call.
- Facilitate/supervise meals,
- Distribute clothing and hygiene supplies.
- Maintain order by consistently enforcing policies and procedures, observing for potential volatile situations, diffusing incidents as they occur, exercising appropriate action, and performing control as needed.
- Keep the physical environment free from hazards at all times and report any potential hazards to a supervisor.
- Responsible for keeping all intake, program application and records accurate and current.
- Practice, instruct, and the use of universal precautions.
- Be knowledgeable of emergency procedures.
- Maintain records of maintenance supply (inventory and order as needed).
- Acknowledge all visitors as they come onto property.
- Attend staff meetings as assigned.
- Prepare, maintain and file reports, forms, records, and attendance sheets.
- Conduct pertinent activities for guests.
- Conduct suspensions when warranted.
- Enforce terminations and all forms of suspensions.
- Enforce parking policies.
- Enforce curfew and monitor late entries.
- Enforce no sleep policy.
- Conduct locker confiscations when requested.
- Report inappropriate behavior.
Other Duties/Functions:
- Assist in recruiting partners and participants.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Attend Training classes, workshops and meetings.
Working conditions: Mostly indoors.
Equipment Use: Daily use of usual office equipment and supplies as required.
Work Hours: 40 hours per week, as scheduled.
Mental demands: Duties require frequent alertness.
Physical demands: Duties require occasional sitting and standing, some stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
Communication demands: Duties require some communication with immediate supervisor, co-workers' community members, and volunteers using tact, persuasion and discretion.
Qualification requirements:
- Education/Experience: BS in social sciences or equivalent and education and experience which would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential duties of the position is preferred.
- 1-year supervisory experience preferred.
