About 'Ōlelo:

'Ōlelo Community Media is O'ahu's nonprofit Public, Education, and Government (PEG) access provider, created to empower the community's voice. The specific and primary purpose of 'Ōlelo is to promote the creation, production, and cable casting of programs by, for, and about Hawai'i. Such programs will preserve, develop, and enhance Hawai'i’s diversity of thought, culture, and heritage. Through these activities, 'Ōlelo will facilitate lifelong learning and the community's participation in the democratic process.

'Ōlelo is currently seeking a Generalist, Human Resources professional to join our team at the main office. The Generalist will be entrusted with overseeing and executing various HR functions.

Responsibilities:

1. Develops and implements human resources strategies by establishing organizational design and structure, job design and responsibilities, including talent acquisitions, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, and AA/EEO compliance. Ensures the company and leaders comply with all applicable rules and regulations relating to workforce and personnel-related areas.

2. Administers benefit plans including annual plan renewals and employee open enrollment.

3. Manages human resources operations by assisting the executive management team in recruiting, orienting, training, and employees and in developing training plans for company employees with appraisals. Assists managers and employees with developing performance and training goals, aligned with the company's strategic goals and initiatives.

4. Experienced and effective investigator, able to interview and document issues or complaints in the workplace in a timely manner, and, recommend solutions or actions to respond to and address complaints or charges.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.

7 years of experience in Human Resources management, staff, functions, and activities.

Experience working for a non-profit is desirable.

Minimum of 7 years of working experience in human resources management with increasing responsibilities.
