Cloud AppOps Engineer (Atlanta, GA) 1-Year+ Contract

If you're looking to join a team of innovative software engineers re-inventing Applications Operations - we want to hear from you! Note this position requires candidates to be located in/near the Atlanta, GA area as there will be a requirement to work at the client site 2-3x per weekThis is a 1-year contract position with potential to be extendedAs a Cloud AppOps Engineer, you will:Configure backend systems and infrastructures helping to build our global SaaS platformCome with a comprehensive understanding of the Amazon AWS platformBe unafraid to "look under the hood" and "break stuff to make stuff"Team up with highly talented and motivated engineers and architects using the latest in AWS, working on cutting edge technologyWork in a fast-paced environment deploying, monitoring, automating & supporting a highly scalable real-time critical platform(s) impacting millions of individuals and revenueManaging complex Applications hosted on CloudSupport Application maintenance activitiesManage daily data processing & troubleshoot failuresBuild proactive monitoring & alerting serviceAutomation using ansible, python, Perl scriptingSetup & secure new Application instancesTake part in change management - building deployment patches, fixes & rollback plansCreate and setup deployment scripts for different environments (i.e. Test properties vs Prod properties)Configure and optimize instances and web servers for optimal performance. (ex: adjusting default connection limits, adjusting request queuing thresholds)Support, create and implement alongside technical & operations teams to meet our customers' individual needs for their infrastructure & application deploymentsWork on critical, highly complex customer problems that will span multiple AWS services (dealing daily with high severity incidents).Help build and improve customer operations through scripts to automate and deploy AWS resources seamlessly with as little manual intervention as possibleCollaborate and help build utilities and tools for internal use that enable you and your fellow Engineers to operate safely at high speed / wide scale
