The Florida Legislature Office of Legislative Services - General Services Job Title Support Services Assistant General Summary The Office of Legislative Services provides centralized administrative, management and support services to the Florida Senate, House of Representatives and other legislative offices. The General Services Office reports to the Coordinator for the Office of Legislative Services.The General Services Office encompasses Mail Services and Property Management. These sections are responsible for receiving, tracking and distributing mail and packages as well as receiving, tracking and disbursing data processing equipment for all legislative entities.This is work performing mail processing and deliver activities to support the Legislature. This position will regularly interface with elected officials, vendors, Legislative employees and the public and must work effectively and professionally within a team. Examples of Work Performed

Perform safety inspections of mail and packages before delivering.

Process outgoing mail and packages.

Research shipments for delivery information.

Make deliveries and runs errands as required.

Receive shipments of computer equipment.

Record pertinent information for asset tracking.

Move furniture and equipment as requested.

Perform asset inventory locally & in district offices.

Assist with administrative tasks.

Perform other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to regularly lift 25+ lbs.

Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time.

Ability to follow office procedures and practices.

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Ability to utilize a computer proficiently.

Ability to organize files, records, and/or other materials.

Ability to work cooperatively as a team member.

Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.

Ability to review work for accuracy, quality, and timeliness.

Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to travel occasionally.

Ability to interact professionally with all customers.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or its equivalent. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Salary

Salary commensurate with experience.
