Responsibilities:

Verify insurance coverage and benefits for new and established patients

Obtain insurance authorizations for medical services, tests and procedures

Must have working experience with all payer types; commercial, governmental, Medicare replacement plans, Medicaid, Humana, Aetna, United Healthcare, etc

Update records with accurate patient copayments and insurance information

Inform relevant clinical staff of insurance denials

Answer patient questions related to billing and insurance

Schedule patient appointment

Collaborate with management and staff to devise workflow and system efficiencies

Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 2 years experience in a medical office setting

Prior work experience with health insurance benefits

Experience working with multiple payer types (commercial, governmental, Medicare replacement plans, Humana, Aetna, United Healthcare, etc.)

Proficiency in relevant software and electronic health record systems

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Demonstrated commitment to professionalism and ethical conduct
