Job title: Web Content Manager

Location: Fort Collins, CO

Status: Part-Time

About Us: RTL Networks, Inc. is a rapidly growing company primarily focused on providing information technology (IT) support services and personnel to a variety of commercial and government customers for long term contracts. By providing a wide array of professional services and products, we help our customers leverage technology and operate with total confidence in the predictability, security, and reliability of their technology resources in order to meet business objectives.

Job Purpose or Summary:

The Web Content Manager will provide web content management services, including mapping and inventorying existing web content, identifying duplications in content, drafting and combining web pages, preparing content for migration to a new web platform, and entering and cleaning up content in the Drupal content management system. Web content covered by this contract will include descriptions of scientific programs, projects, and organizations; maps and datasets; manuals and publications; and other related resources.

MAJOR DUTIES:

Web Content Inventory and Identification of Duplication

  • The contractor will conduct a crosswalk of web content hosted on the primary website and other content hosted on legacy, partner, or other websites. The Contractor will begin this work with the website, which includes approximately 250-300 individual pages.

Drafting and Combining Web Pages

  • Drafting combined versions of content that is currently duplicated between the company website and other websites. Templates for these combined drafts will be provided by the staff and may be in Microsoft Word, Excel, or other formats. These drafts will be written to eliminate duplicate text and content but maintain all substantive information and content contained on either website.

Preparing Content for Migration

  • Prepares content from the company website and other websites for migration to the new R&D web platform. This task may include: coordinating with the staff to identify and mark content that is out of date, duplicated, or otherwise does not require migration to the new website (either manually or through existing Content Review Tools); and entering content into templates or other formats to facilitate migration.

Entering and Cleaning Up Web Content

  • While most content migration to the new web platform is expected to be automated, some content migration and cleanup may need to be performed manually. During and following migration to the new R&D web platform, the Contractor will review migrated pages to ensure content is displaying correctly and make corrections as needed.
  • The Contractor may also manually enter some pages into the new website, including pages that are not feasible to migrate automatically, require substantial revision to display correctly, or need to be shifted to a new content type. This work will be conducted in the Drupal 9 content management system.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with website content development and management, including basic HTML
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic image editing software
  • Ability to write and edit content related to scientific and technical topics
  • Experience entering and revising content in Drupal content management systems. Drupal development experience is not required.
  • Work completed in an office setting.
