Description of JobWhat you'll be doing: Acts as the Department staff authority to support the overall healthcare affordability goals. Responsible for providing an in-depth understanding of how these goals further the strategic priorities and business operations to help save all Coloradans money on healthcare Performs extensive research into programs, operations, and best practices to develop and execute a plan to integrate those practices into the goal of saving all Coloradoans money on healthcare. Develops program goals and objectives; program metrics and analytics; strategic and tactical short and long-term plans; communications; and reporting requirements and audiences. Leads efforts to track, collaborate, coordinate, and evolve initiatives, policy and programs including but not limited to transparency and trend/cost driver analysis and cost control recommendations; Hospital Transformation Programs, outcomes and results; integrated prescription drug solutions and their impact on medical costs; telemedicine impactanalysis and recommendations; eConsultants evolution and implementation; cost and quality indicators (Providers of Distinction) evolution, analysis and implementation; specialist referral management best practices; advancing payment policy; evolving PCP (Primary Care Physician) relationships from PCMP (Primary Care Medical Provider) to ACO (Accountable CareOrganization); reviewing and incorporating health equity concepts; and more. Managing financial initiatives for a state entity or large healthcare organization

Public Administration

Health policy

Coordinating complex projects and collaborating across multiple agencies and internal work teams related to work associated with healthcare delivery, payment, or policy development.

Stakeholder engagement, which includes analyzing, planning and implementing complex strategies related to issues associated with healthcare affordability.

OR

Nine years of professional experience in the above mentioned competencies. Preferred Qualifications & Special Qualifications:

Masters Degree in business administration or Masters Degree in public health

Experience translating technical health care issues for taxpayers, legislators, etc.

Knowledge of the Colorado health care landscape and regional differences.

Maintaining compliance with internal and external policy.

Understanding of Medicaid, health care costs, pharmacy, and insurance.

Prior state experience related to the duties of this position
