Job Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant / Administrative Assistant for a small, busy law firm that assists clients in obtaining Social Security disability benefits. 40 hours per week available, can be 30-40 hours per week if you prefer. Some work in the office is required, but the position can be hybrid with mostly work-from-home if you prefer. Compensation: $25 per hour. Benefits include automatic annual cost-of-living raises, up to two weeks paid time off per year (based on working 40 hours per week), six paid holidays per year, and employer contribution to health insurance costs.
Duties
Assist in daily office needs and manage general administrative activities
Act as a point of contact between attorneys and clients
Answer and direct phone calls with proper phone etiquette
Maintain computerized filing systems and databases
Provide personalized secretarial and administrative support
Perform clerical tasks such as data entry, copying, scanning, and filing
Handle client inquiries and resolve issues promptly
Skills
Proficient in computer applications and office software
Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor
Ability to handle tasks accurately and efficiently
Experience
Experience working in a law office is preferred
Experience working in a law office that handles Social Security disability cases is a big plus
Experience with open source software is a plus
