The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) is in search of a Lead Custodian to join our Event Operations Team!
Who We Are
Founded in 1906, the Western Stock Show Association aims to invest in future generations by promoting youth and community development through livestock and equestrian education, innovation, entertainment, and competition. We are best known for putting on the annual National Western Stock Show, which has called Denver its home since the 1890s.
Outside of the best 16 days in January, our events complex keeps busy year-round by hosting horse & livestock shows, trade shows, wrestling tournaments, concerts, cheerleading competitions, car shows and more. Our Event Operations team plays a critical role in all of our events and keeps our complex functioning at all times.
What We Do
The Lead Custodian will work closely with our Event Staff to ensure our Complex is kept clean and event-ready at all times. Typical tasks include clearing/emptying trash, sweeping floors, and cleaning bathrooms/event spaces.
In this role, you will work closely with our Event Operations Team Leads and Managers to get ready for upcoming shows, occasionally directing Event Staff to ensure tasks are completed correctly and on-time. The Lead Custodian is responsible for maintaining all custodial supplies and equipment with the support of Operations Management.
What You Need
To be successful in this role, candidates should have previous experience with custodial work, inventory control & ordering, and leading diverse teams. As the Lead Custodian will regularly need to operate riding floor sweepers/scrubbers, candidates will need to be comfortable with this equipment and able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
The Lead Custodian must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be comfortable with working indoors, outside in all weather conditions, and around animals.
As our schedule is based on the events booked in our Complex, scheduling flexibility is a must. Events may require early morning hours, late evening/overnight hours, holiday hours, and will definitely require weekend hours. Candidates should be prepared to work up to 12-hour shifts during events.

Pay Rate
$20.30/hour
