Cowdrey Jenkins, LLP, seeks an experienced civil litigation paralegal to join our team. We are a California statewide civil litigation firm that focuses on representing victims in elder abuse/wrongful death lawsuits involving nursing home, assisted living, or other long-term care or healthcare facilities. This position is based in our Camarillo/Ventura County office and is a full-time position. Only certified paralegals will be considered.
Responsibilities include:
· Obtaining and organizing medical records and other business records
· Preparing chronologies
· Propounding and responding to discovery
· Reviewing and organizing opposing party's document production
· Preparing discovery motions
· Assisting with deposition preparation
· Assisting with trial preparation
Qualified candidates will be detail-oriented and organized and will have excellent communication skills. Experience with cloud-based document management systems, Microsoft Office 365, specifically Word and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat is required. Experience with Clio, our practice management system is not required but is a major advantage.
