The San Francisco AI Factory, Inc. d/b/a Factory seeks multiple Software Engineers - Droids in San Francisco, California.
Responsibilities: Responsible for tackling complex software engineering challenges critical to the operational excellence and evolution of Factory’s autonomous Droids. Duties include: designing, developing, and optimizing the software that underpins our Droids, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and robustness; building complex, high-performance, and reliable software systems; owning internal orchestration, indexing, data storage, and retrieval processes for Factory software, ensuring Droids can efficiently process and analyze large volumes of codebase data; executing ongoing testing and analysis of current systems, including independent performance analysis, diagnosis, and troubleshooting; engineering reliable software solutions that navigate and manipulate complex technical topics related to software systems; working directly and closely with Factory’s AI researchers and engineers to ensure seamless integration between AI-driven components and the foundational software systems that support them; determining design solutions to problematic programming issues; driving the adoption of best practices in code quality, security, and architecture design, contributing to the company’s culture of technical excellence and innovation; and other duties as assigned. Salary range: $200,000 - $250,000
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: 2 years of experience in the job offered or related. Other special requirements include: 2 years of experience working with JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or similar programming languages; 2 years of experience working with LLM inference technologies such as Amazon Bedrock Converse or Clause/Anthropic APIs or other LLM inference engines such as Pytorch or Tensorflow; 2 years of experience working with client/server architectures and application architectures; and 2 years of experience working with distributed codebases on cross-functional teams.
