Location: Moraga, CA
We are seeking a warm, caring, trustworthy, self-motivated, and reliable individual to join our family as a long-term household helper. This position involves all aspects of maintaining a smooth-running household, primarily focusing on supporting a family with grade school-aged children. The ideal candidate will be someone who takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude, and genuinely enjoys contributing to a family environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Laundry: Washing, drying, ironing, folding, and putting away clothes for the family.
- Dishes: Washing, drying, and putting away dishes, as well as maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
- Waste Management: Handling trash, compost, and recycling.
- Meal Preparation: Assisting with meal prep, including making kids' lunch boxes and weekly juicing.
- Shopping: Grocery shopping, farmers market, and handling mail and Amazon deliveries.
- Errands: Running various errands, such as drycleaning, post office, etc., as needed to support household operations.
- Chicken Care: Basic care for household chickens, including feeding and maintaining their living area. (Temporarily until chickens are rehomed.)
- Other Tasks: Assisting with miscellaneous household tasks and organizational projects as required.
- Light Housework: Routine tasks such as sweeping and wiping counters will be part of the responsibilities.
Hours and Start Date Details:
- Preferred Schedule: 32 to 40-hour workweek, 5-6 days per week. Example: 8-hour shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 4-hour shifts on Wednesday and Sunday. Some flexibility is possible, but at least 4 hours of Sunday work is required to get the family ready for the school/work week.
Job start:
- June 10 for a training week with the previous person in the roll.
- In-person interviews required and will be the last two weeks in May.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must have your own mode of transportation and a good driving record.
- Must live < 30 miles from Moraga.
- Due to allergies and working in our home, we can only consider non-smokers.
- Previous experience in a similar household helper role is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Warm and caring demeanor, especially when interacting with children.
- Trustworthy and reliable with a strong sense of integrity.
