Cedars of Marin (cedarslife.org) provides day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Cedars first opened its doors in 1919, and for more than a century our person-centered programs and services have supported tens of hundreds of clients in living creative, productive, joyous and healthy lives.

Cedars Textile Art Collaborative (TAC) (https://www.cedarslife.org/cedars-textile-arts-collaborative) offers Cedars clients a diverse, creative day program environment, with compassionate and inspiring instruction. We are currently looking for patient, compassionate instructor for our Seniors Program.

As a TAC Seniors Instructor, you will work with retired individuals to determine and plan their own activities on a daily basis. They may choose from a range of work opportunities, community-based activities, volunteer projects as well as music and art projects on site. The senior program is the only of its kind in the area!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Using a person-centered approach, work with individuals to create goals that make use of their creative skills and interests.

Provide instruction and guidance to individuals, based on their individual choice of program component.

Assist each participant in working as independently as possible and to their full potential, while providing individualized support as is necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Experience working with developmentally disabled people is preferred.

Experience leading, advising, organizing, and motivating groups of people.

Excellent attendance and punctuality.

The ability to teach and provide skills in the program areas offered at TAC.

Willingness to pitch in when/where needed.

Ability to pass an employment physical including a TB test, and to meet the physical requirements of the job.

Clean DMV record and valid CA driver's license.

CPR and First Aid certifications or the willingness to acquire both.

Ability to pass a criminal background check with the FBI and DOJ.
