Schedule:
Hiring a part-time server. Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday PM with opportunities for pickups other days. Lunch and brunch shifts from about 10am-4pm, dinner shifts from 4:30p-10p.
The Role:
The Sever at NOVY is the representation of the restaurant. The server greets guests, suggests food and wine pairings, takes orders, pre-busses, helps run food and bus, helps the host greet guests at the table, manages to-go orders and completes side-work.
Primary Responsibilities:
Say hello to any un-greeted guest at the door ensuring a hospitable experience for everyone
Manage reservations, using iPad-based OpenTable app
Build a neighborhood friendly rapport with guests
Explain the menu and suggest appetizer, entree and beer/wine pairings
Manually courses their tables
Pre-busses section
Helps clean tables between guest seatings
Communicates ticket errors or dish errors with kitchen directly (no chef or expediter)
Complete assigned sidework
Coordinate and communicate effectively with FOH and BOH teams
Keep a clean and orderly workspace at all times
Follow all procedures as required by local, state, and federal health codes
Other duties as directed by the manager
Requirements:
2 years full-service dining experience
Experience with Toast POS a plus
Ability to multi-task on shifts without support staff (some shifts the server is also the host/food runner; other shifts have scheduled support staff)
Ability to interact with the public in a welcoming and hospitable manner
Experience with iPads and apps
