Farmer and the Fig / Cafe du Sud is a small, family-owned catering company looking for people to join our delivery team. We are located in Richmond near the Marina. The driver position is a great job for somebody looking for an easy part-time role, or someone looking to fill gaps in their existing schedule such as students or those with other part-time work. No catering or food service experience required!
Job description:
-Arrive at our commercial kitchen
-Check in with management and pick up assigned order
-Drive to delivery location, wait until designated delivery window to enter
-Check in with building security/receptionist if necessary
-Set up or hand off order as instructed, we do family style buffet and individually packaged meals (no service)
-Return materials (food transportation equipment) to kitchen
Requirements:
-Must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination
-Able to lift 50lbs
-Communicate clearly and effectively in English
-Valid Driver’s License and car insurance
-Reliable vehicle
-Detail oriented
Schedule/hours and pay:
We are a Monday through Friday operation, with most shifts being in the morning (roughly 9AM-1PM), and some afternoon shifts available as well (roughly 3PM-7PM). For many years we have afforded our drivers great flexibility with their schedules, and continue to do so. You can work as many or as few shifts as you want, depending on your availability and the volume of orders we get.
Pay rate is $20/hour, and you are reimbursed for all bridge tolls, parking expenses, and $0.50 for every mile driven to and from your delivery location. Pay is via check or direct deposit twice a month, with reimbursements paid on the second paycheck of each month. There is also a 3-hour pay guarantee, meaning even if your shift is shorter than 3 hours, you will still be paid for 3 hours.
