Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Flexible hours, typically weekdays with
occasional weekends
Compensation: Very competitive wage ($50-$80/hr)
Position Overview:
We are hiring a part-time Hull Diver to assist with the
underwater inspection and maintenance of vessel hulls. The primary responsibility of this role is thorough inspection — identifying potential or developing issues beneath the surface. Cleaning is part of the job, but incidental. A good hull diver detects external symptoms of internal problems and recommends or takes corrective action to prevent small issues from becoming costly repairs.
Commercial or hull-diving experience is not necessary. We prefer to train the right person rather than hire someone with a specific skill set.
What We Offer:
On-the-job training in professional hull diving,
inspection, and marine systems
Can provide gear to the right person
Flexible schedule with opportunity for growth
A respectful, safety-first work culture with professional standards
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed underwater hull inspections to identify signs of wear, corrosion, damage, or biological growth
Recognize external indicators of internal system issues and escalate appropriately
Perform light to moderate cleaning to maintain visibility and efficiency
Monitor and maintain diving gear; report on equipment condition
Maintain clear communication with team, clients, and
marina personnel
Uphold the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and reporting accuracy
Core Requirements:
Integrity, Accountability, Empathy, & Quality
Communication — these are set in stone and are the top priority for an applicant
PADI/NAUI/SSI open water certification (or willingness to obtain quickly)
Physically fit and comfortable working underwater for extended periods
Willingness to learn, take feedback, and operate independently
Reliable transportation
Must obtain your own insurance policy after training — most marinas require each diver to carry a personal
policy
Preferred (But Not Required):
Recreational or professional diving experience
Familiarity with boats, marinas, or marine systems
Mechanical aptitude or interest in diagnostics and repair
To Apply:
Email your resume, diving certification (if available), and a short note about why you’re interested to this post.
We’re far more interested in who you are than a lengthy résumé.
