Job Title: Management Operations Associate - 24-Month Rotational Development & Work Program

Location: Hayward/Union City

Schedule: Full-time

Pay range: $65,000 -/+ per year. We are flexible, DOE.

Program Overview

This 24-month rotational training and work program offers a comprehensive learning experience designed to immerse you in the operational, sales, and logistical functions of a leading meat and food distribution company. As an Operations Associate, you will rotate through various departments, gaining hands-on experience and a deep understanding of our company's key processes.

You will experience a blended learning environment which includes mentorship, job shadowing, and expanded networking opportunities with our leaders, clients, community, and all departments/employees alike. Participants will have the opportunity to gain high level visibility and create significant impact within a regional sales and distribution organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Warehouse Operations:

Assist with inventory management, including receiving, storage, and stock rotation.

Learn to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Participate in quality control checks to ensure product standards are met.

2. Logistics and Transportation:

Work alongside the logistics team to plan and execute delivery routes.

Collaborate with drivers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Gain an understanding of regulatory compliance, including food safety and transportation laws.

3. Sales and Customer Service:

Shadow sales representatives to understand client needs and build relationships.

Assist with order processing and ensure customer satisfaction.

Participate in customer account management and learn to identify opportunities for growth.

4. Production and Processing:

Learn the processes involved in meat cutting, portioning, and packaging.

Ensure adherence to safety and sanitation protocols.

Gain an understanding of product specifications and custom orders.

5. Procurement and Supplier Relations:

Assist in sourcing products from suppliers and negotiating pricing.

Learn about vendor management and maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Participate in product forecasting and market trend analysis.

6. Marketing and Business Development:

Support marketing campaigns to promote products and services.

Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities.

Contribute to branding efforts, including digital and traditional marketing strategies.

7. Finance and Administration:

Gain exposure to invoicing, billing, and accounts receivable/payable processes.

Assist with budgeting and financial reporting.

Understand HR and operational compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

8. Food Safety and Compliance:

Learn about HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) systems and audits.

Participate in safety training and ensure adherence to food handling guidelines.

Support efforts to maintain certifications and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications:

Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Distribution, Food Science/related, Management Information Systems, or related fields.

Pursuing an MBA is a plus.

Good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

Proficiency in developing effective executive reports and presentations

Proficiency in Microsoft office tools

Excellent listening, writing, quantitative, qualitative and oral communication skills

Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact cross-organizationally

Ability to problem-solve creatively and analytically

Commitment to quality and customer satisfaction

Detail-oriented; ability to multi-task; deadline-oriented

Flexible and adaptable mindset

Thrive in a results-driven culture

Nice to have technical skills: Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, etc.

Right to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or at a future date

Physical Requirements:

Must have a driver's licence and reliable transportation in order to attend off-site meetings and audits.

Must be able to have consistent attendance in the Hayward/Union City area.
