Job Title: Install Technician - San Diego
The Install Technician's primary responsibilities are to complete the install process, which includes cabinetry
installation, finish carpentry, and site adjustments. This role requires a solid background in carpentry,
particularly in trim, cabinetry, and millwork installation. The position is best suited for someone who is flexible,
detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to Capsule's success by ensuring high-quality, professional
installations.
Job Location: San Diego for 1 week every 3 weeks
Primary Responsibilities (Installs - Remote):
- Install cabinets and millwork on active construction sites in San Diego
- Perform finish carpentry tasks including cutting, fitting, and fastening trim pieces, crown molding,
baseboards, and cabinet components
- Make on-site carpentry adjustments such as scribing panels, customizing fit, and leveling cabinets
- Read and interpret construction drawings or installation specs to ensure accurate and precise placement
- Collaborate with project teams to understand installation requirements and timelines
- Ensure the proper alignment, positioning, and structural integrity of installed components
Material Handling:
- Safely and efficiently handle construction materials, tools, and supplies
- Transport and position materials using appropriate equipment
- Assist in the loading and unloading of construction materials
Site Preparation:
- Unpack, sort, and stage products
- Participate in site prep including measuring, grading, and leveling
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality checks on carpentry work and installed components
- Identify and resolve installation issues promptly and professionally
Safety Compliance:
- Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate installation and material tracking records
- Submit daily progress updates using Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of hands-on carpentry experience, particularly in finish work, cabinetry, or trim installation
- Proficient in using hand and power tools common to carpentry and cabinetry
- Familiarity with reading blueprints or construction documents
- Experience with framing, drywall patching, or basic wood fabrication a plus
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Experience hauling trailers and/or moving large equipment is a plus
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Willingness to travel with short notice
- Comfortable adapting to last-minute changes and field conditions
- Passion for delivering professional, high-quality results
