Position Summary:

The Front of House Team Member manages guest interactions, monetary exchanges, and maintains a clean and welcoming front area while assisting with dishwashing duties. This role combines cashier responsibilities with janitorial tasks to ensure exceptional guest service and operational efficiency in a fast casual dining environment.

Pay is $19/hr + a share of the tip pool.

Essential Functions and Tasks:

Greets all guests politely with a smile upon entry and builds rapport throughout their visit.

Takes orders (dine-in, carry-out, and online), inputs them into the POS system, and processes payments, including cash, credit, and debit transactions.

Answers phones professionally, handles carry-out orders, and ensures prompt delivery of orders to guests.

Maintains full knowledge of menu items and ingredients, upselling and offering additional options as appropriate.

Runs food to dine-in guests and monitors order accuracy and timeliness.

Keeps the counter, dining area, and front of house neat, clean, and well-stocked with supplies.

Performs dishwashing and janitorial duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, scrubbing walls and trash cans, and removing trash to the dock area.

Operates dish machines and maintains cleanliness of assigned areas in accordance with company policies.

Balances the cash drawer at the end of each shift and ensures accuracy in transactions.

Listens to and resolves guest complaints, suggestions, and inquiries while maintaining professionalism.

Adheres to company standards, including personal hygiene and appearance, and complies with health department codes for food sanitation and handling.

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

At least one year of related experience in a similar fast casual setting preferred, though not required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Food safety certified.

Successfully completed an alcohol awareness program (if applicable).

Excellent guest service skills and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.

Highly motivated with an energetic personality and ability to work well in pressure situations.

Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands:

Frequently standing, walking, listening, and speaking while using wrist motion, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

Requires reaching, bending, stooping, and frequently lifting up to 55 pounds.

Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.

Working Conditions:

Work performed in a climate-controlled environment with occasional hot and cold temperature changes.

Standing on concrete floors, tiles/mats, and walking on uneven or wet surfaces.

Exposure to moderate noise levels and cleaning equipment.
