Description We are looking for a diligent Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our client in the legal industry. They are rated the #1 law firm representing plaintiffs. As a Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you will be tasked with maintaining payroll and benefit-related data with utmost precision and confidentiality. You will also be expected to manage employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Responsibilities: Accurately prepare, process, and maintain payroll, salary, and compensation data Audit Time & Attendance records to identify discrepancies and ensure timely reconciliations Calculate and input wages, bonuses, and deductions into the payroll system Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and detail-oriented manner Maintain compliance with tax laws, payroll regulations, and ERISA regulations Generate relevant reports for management by maintaining comprehensive payroll records Administer all benefit plans including but not limited to insurance, 401(k), FSA, and cafeteria plans, and answer enrollment-related inquiries Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees and offboarding process for departing employees Handle EDD, SDI, PFL, and unemployment matters efficiently Process Leave of Absence requests and workers' compensation claims Maintain the Employee Handbook by ensuring it stays up to date with current policies and procedures.Requirements Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within the detail-oriented Services industry Proficiency in auditing, specifically within the context of payroll and benefits Demonstrated ability to efficiently handle benefit functions and claim administration Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Familiarity with Paycom or similar payroll management systems Experience managing payroll for 100-200 employees.
