Partners with business leaders and executives to identify gaps in processes, write requirements and define project roadmap(s) aligned with company strategy.
Elicits, analyzes, and documents detailed business solutions that arise from changes across multiple teams and systems.
Works with business partners to plan and convert project roadmap(s) into phases and workstreams.
Gathers rates, rules, and forms requirements (proprietary or ISO based) from Product and Actuarial teams and coordinates with IT and Underwriting (UW) implementation liaison(s) as needed to align regulatory filings and effective dates across multiple systems.
Coordinates updated requirements as filing objections may change rates, rules, or forms implementation.
Works with business and technical subject matter experts to track dependencies and gaps in processes and clearly define and document solutions.
Works with participating business and technical teams to ensure proper resource allocation to achieve the successful outcome of product business solutions.
Creates touch points and provides updates to stakeholders regarding project objectives, schedule, status, conflicts, and dependencies.
Pro-actively monitors project activities, resource constraints, and working team progress. Communicates with IT and other partners any issues that require attention.
Coordinates Product and Actuarial user acceptance testing (UAT) and user access to appropriate environments.
Coordinates test case documentation with UW and Product and logs test case results.
Ensures test errors are reported with appropriate documentation to IT partners.
Follows up with IT for timing and resource availability for testing fixes with business subject matter experts.
Provides support for UAT and test defect resolution. Coordinates and documents test cases and results to ensure accurate and timely reporting and re-testing of issues.
Supports implementation of product business solutions and provides post-implementation support of deployed business solutions.
Participates in coordinating the deployment and implementation of business solutions for product changes as they relate to rates, rules, and forms.
Partners with PMO, IT, and Underwriting in planning and execution to align deployment deliverables.
Communicate with LOB partners to resolve and align expectations where there are shared system impacts.
Fast tracks progress of internal development work and provides support for feature enhancements, including documentation, and project management.
Provides ongoing production support, including responding to user issues, collaborating with technical teams to analyze and resolve reported issues.
Assigns, documents, and tracks business issues as they evolve through the entire implementation life cycle, ensuring resolution. Escalates delays and roadblocks and works with SMEs to ensure system implementation and business processes are aligned on effective dates and filed and approved for rates, rules, and forms.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required with a major or emphasis in Business, Information Technology, Insurance, or related field. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum 5 years of insurance experience required.
Minimum 3 years of relevant technical insurance product (rates, rules, forms) experience required.
Project management experience in prior roles desired.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Insurance (AINS) or other insurance industry designation desirable. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or CAPM certifications a plus.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge of the insurance end-to-end process.
Understanding of dependencies, process when changes are made in one area that affects others downstream.
Outstanding communication and documentation skills, in both business process and technical formats required.
Expertise in project management techniques is foundational.
High level business knowledge in at least one functional business area is expected.
Working experience interacting with Information Systems and Technical Engineers is essential.
Strong analytical skills, ability to create compelling business cases; Team-oriented focus; ability to conduct effective meetings with business and project teams; ability to create and interpret business user needs into specifications.
Understanding of the insurance product implementation lifecycles and experience in writing business requirements and business test specifications.
Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence and Visio preferred.
