Description Robert Half is partnering with a respected higher education institution to hire a skilled and resourceful HR Generalist. This role is ideal for an HR professional passionate about fostering a positive and productive workplace in an academic environment.Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a trusted advisor to faculty, staff, and administration on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

Manage recruitment efforts, including creating job postings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and supporting hiring decisions.

Administer employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience for new hires and departing staff.

Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with institutional, state, and federal requirements.

Support benefits administration, including open enrollment, employee inquiries, and coordination with benefits providers.

Assist in resolving employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and providing recommendations to leadership.

Facilitate training and professional development programs for faculty and staff.

Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, and Title IX.

Prepare reports and analyses related to HR metrics, including turnover, diversity, and employee engagement.

Collaborate on HR projects and initiatives, such as policy updates, employee recognition programs, and DEI efforts.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

3+ years of HR experience, preferably in higher education or a similar academic setting.

Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Strong understanding of employment laws and higher education regulations.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across a diverse academic community.

Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
