East County subcontractor is seeking a competent person to fill our Construction Accounting/Payroll Administrator position. Candidates with 5+ years’ previous construction accounting and prevailing wage/certified payroll experience a must! Previous accounting manager or assistant controller experience a plus! Looking for a take charge person who is committed to a long-term position with the company. The right candidate will be industrious and have an excellent work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to maintain clear and accurate financial records. Must be ethical and trustworthy. Must be sharp and attention to detail is a MUST! Must be able to self-manage and work well in a small office setting. Looking for someone who goes above and beyond and who wants a career, rather than just a paycheck. Must be able to commit to scheduled hours/days. We are a local, small business and this is a full-time, in-office position. Local candidates preferred and only candidates with recent construction background will be considered. Previous work references are required and will be checked.

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant, firsthand construction accounting experience required. Previous construction accounting management or assistant controller experience a plus.

Must have recent experience with in-house payroll, prevailing wage and certified payroll.

Must be accurate and must be extremely detail oriented.

Must be able to work independently.

Recent experience processing weekly payroll.

Experience with certified payroll reporting through DIR, Prism, eMars, LCP Tracker.

Knowledge of accounts payable, purchase orders, etc.

Credit card and bank reconciliations.

Knowledge of lien releases, preliminary notices.

Knowledge of job cost, accounts receivable, change orders, etc.

Knowledge of progress billings, SOV’s.

Knowledge of insurance renewal processes/audits a plus.

Human resources, employee onboarding/offboarding.

Proficient in advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel.

Demonstrates an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Initiative-taking and self-directed.

Experience in Sage 100 accounting software a plus.

Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports.

Strong organizational skills.

Ability to follow directions.

Problem solver, ability to see the big picture.

Ability to understand full-cycle construction accounting.

Willingness to do the little tasks.

Other accounting/administrative duties as delegated by supervisor.
