Certified Payroll and Labor Compliance Specialist

We seek an experienced Certified Payroll and Labor Compliance Specialist to join our accounting department at an established East County family-owned construction company that has been in business for over 40 years. Knowledge of SAGE 300 would be helpful. This is a full-time, long-term position with wages commensurate with experience.

Summary

Prepare and submit certified payrolls and labor compliance documents for private and public works required by state, federal, Caltrans, local municipalities, general contractors, and/or third-party labor compliance administrators. Maintain and keep a current manual, computerized spreadsheet, and online accurate certified payrolls & labor compliance records. Keep updated on the laws and regulations of the State of California and the Davis-Bacon Act.

Job Duties

Various duties to include but are not limited to the following:

Prepare and submit labor compliance documents such as DAS140, DAS142, fringe benefit statements, and Apprentice Training CAC2 per program requirements and regulations.

Large volume of weekly certified payroll reporting

Remittance through online labor compliance programs such as LCP Tracker, E-mars, Prism, and DIR

Compile, audit, and log the subcontractor’s certified payroll and labor compliance documents

Liaison between sub-contractor and labor compliance programs such as E-mars, Prism, DIR, LCP Tracker, and TPA.

Assist in additional tasks as assigned by the Controller to support the day-to-day workflow of the payroll department.

Requirements

3-5 years knowledge of public work prevailing wage

Knowledgeable and able to navigate the State of California DIR website

Knowledge of subcontractors’ requirements

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Acrobat

Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Extremely detail-oriented and self-starter.

Strong computer skills with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, emphasizing accuracy and meeting deadlines with minimum supervision.

Good typing and 10 key skills

Experience with Sage CRE-Timberline Accounting Software a plus
