Established AV rated boutique law firm in Newport Beach is seeking a trust and estates paralegal for immediate hire with 5 years of experience. The paralegal will be working in the areas of estate planning, trust administration and probate administration. Paralegal certification required. The position requires working in the office 5 days per week during normal business hours. Salary is commensurate with experience. Full benefits such as PTO, Holidays, 401K, medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits included.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

Assist with probate administration and conservatorship matters.

Assist attorney with the drafting of estate plans.

Assist attorney with the individual trusts and joint trusts at both the first spouse’s death and at the surviving spouse’s death.

Preparation of asset inventories and accountings for trust administrations.

Determination of exemption allocation, establishment and funding of sub-trusts, and the use and preparation of IRS forms for trust administrations.

Draft documents related to trust funding and real property transfers, including deeds, preliminary change of ownership reports, and claims for reassessment exclusions.

Candidate should have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Hot Docs, Lexis, Essential Forms and Timeslips.

Must be proficient in WordPerfect and MS Office programs.

Be able to manage time efficiently with minimal supervision.

Experience in tracking and billing time efficiently and accurately is required.

Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task is required.

A paralegal certificate in good standing and in compliance with CLE requirements is required.

Must have 5 years full-time law firm experience.

Must be a Notary Public

Position requires working in the office 5 days per week during normal business hours.
