The Street Maintenance Leadworker is a full-time position in the Streets and Utilities Division of the Public Works Department for the City of Monterey. The Streets and Utilities Division is responsible for City street maintenance and repair, pavement and curb marking, fabricating and installing directional, parking, and traffic signage, maintenance and repair of street lighting and maintaining the sanitary sewer and storm drain systems.

The successful candidate will have a solid background performing the aforementioned duties. Additionally, they will possess excellent customer service skills and work well as part of a team.

SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, to lead and participate in the construction, maintenance, and repair of City streets, sewers, storm drain systems and other related facilities, and to do related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school or completion of GED and three years of experience in the maintenance and construction of streets and sewer facilities.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:

Must possess a valid California Driver’s License upon time of appointment and be insurable with the City’s standard insurance rate, unless otherwise approved by appointing authority.
