As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Construction Bookkeeper to manage our financial operations with accuracy and efficiency.

Our financial team plays a critical role in ensuring the stability and growth of our company, and we’re looking for a skilled bookkeeper who understands the complexities of construction accounting to join us.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of construction bookkeeping, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger reconciliation.
Handle progress billing, AIA billing, retention tracking, and job cost allocations to ensure accurate project financials.
Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring all financial data aligns with project costs.
Maintain and review Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedules, over/under billings, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
Generate and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow projections for leadership review.
Ensure compliance with construction-specific tax filings, certified payroll reporting, and local, state, and federal financial regulations.
Collaborate closely with project managers to track job costs, manage budgets, and support financial decision-making.
Use QuickBooks for Construction (or equivalent software) along with Excel for advanced reporting and financial tracking.
Assist with external audits, tax filings, and reporting requirements, ensuring all documentation is prepared and accurate.
Qualifications:
5+ years of bookkeeping experience in the construction industry (electrical contracting experience is a plus).
Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing, WIP schedules, retention tracking, and over/under billings.
Proficiency in QuickBooks (Construction Edition or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and reporting.
Experience with AIA billing, certified payroll, and lien releases is highly preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, vendors, and financial teams to ensure seamless project financial management.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
