Our client, a growing company in San Fernando, CA is looking for a Human Resources Specialist to join their team. This role supports a variety of HR functions including benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, and compliance across multiple shifts and teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to the HR department, including record-keeping, HRIS data entry, and file maintenance.
Act as a liaison between employees and benefits providers, administering health and welfare plans (enrollments, changes, terminations).
Conduct new hire orientations and maintain I-9 documentation and compliance.
Coordinate employee evaluations and maintain performance review tracking.
Prepare and process disciplinary notices and terminations.
Manage and execute the Employee of the Month program (recognitions, photos, awards, lunches for all shifts).
Submit background checks and online investigation requests for new hires.
Assist with FMLA administration, eligibility tracking, leave documentation, and related communication.
Support employee engagement and provide answers to general HR-related inquiries.
Requirements:
Prior experience in human resources or benefits administration preferred.
Knowledge of federal and state HR regulations.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms.
Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
Pay & Schedule:
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $35.00
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
