A new Assisted Living facility is looking for Caregivers to support the facility and its team by acting as a primary and key front-line contact for residents. While building meaningful relationships with residents and their families, this role is a physical manifestation of the facility’s mission to provide quality senior care in accordance with federal, state and local policies and standards.
Responsibilities:
Performs personal services for residents needing assistance with activities of daily living.
Based on assignments provided by supervisor, meets the personal care needs of residents including, but not limited to: assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, shaving, walking (with and without assistive devices), escorting, reminding, incontinence care, and checking on living quarters/areas.
Assists residents with dining services, as needed.
Provides companionship to residents.
Encourages residents to participate in self-directed activities.
Encourages, and/or redirects residents with mild cognitive impairment.
Seeks assistance in performing duties as necessary and appropriate.
Reports and documents personal care services rendered.
Reports any observations regarding resident condition or behavior and/or unusual changes/incidents to supervisor.
Attends and participates in committees, training programs and staff meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
CNA or HHA certification preferred.
1+ year experience in home health, hospice, or assisted living setting (2+ years preferred).
Compassionate and caring personality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
BLS/CPR certification (preferred).
First Aid certification.
Medication administration certification (preferred).
Mandated Reporter of any suspected elderly abuse, neglect and/or harassment (e.g., physical, mental, sexual, etc.).
