Payroll Clerk

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in the wholesale distribution industry, located in Lodi, California. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing timesheets, confirming hours, and making necessary payroll changes. You will be required to maintain an accurate record of employee hours, sick pay and other payroll-related data. Responsibilities: Review and confirm employee timesheets on a biweekly basis. Make necessary changes to payroll data, including hours worked and sick pay. Check timesheets for accuracy and rectify any discrepancies. Maintain an accurate record of employee payroll data. Utilize Microsoft Excel for various tasks, including creating and managing pivot tables and V-look ups. Ensure all payroll procedures are in compliance with company policies. Provide support to other team members in the payroll department as needed. Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management. Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure all employee data is up-to-date. Assist in other administrative tasks as required by the department. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role within the Wholesale Distribution industry Proven proficiency in managing payroll for 101 - 500 employees Demonstrated expertise in handling payroll garnishments Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for payroll processing and reporting Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information responsibly Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with employees and management Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
