Managing project work with the Vice President of Community Development + Housing related to housing planning (market rate and affordable), community development, financial/economic analysis and affordable housing analysis and implementation services.

Grant writing and administration.

Research and financial analysis for residential development.

Housing planning (including housing strategies).

Other advisory services for housing implementation.

Harris & Associates is searching for a highly motivated Project Manager in our Community Development + Housing Business Unit. This position is based in our Irvine office with a Hybrid Work Schedule that requires a minimum of one (1) day per week in the Irvine office.

Responsibilities & Duties

The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful management and completion of projects which include:

Independently managing all aspects of projects, including directing work products, interfacing with the client, overseeing junior staff, maintaining project schedules, and monitoring project budgets.

Document preparation (individually and managing team document preparation), client coordination, managing and adhering to project schedules, managing staff, determining the best approach to meet client needs for each project assignment, train and mentor junior staff and regularly update the Vice President and team members on project status.

Successful client interface/follow up and ensuring that all project deadlines are met is a must.

Acting as the main point of contact for clients and being responsible for coordination.

Reviewing all project deliverables and ensuring the highest quality on all work products.

Mentoring and training staff.

Assisting with preparing client presentations.

Qualifications & Skills

College degree in Economics, Business, Real Estate, Housing or related field.

A minimum of 4 years of experience on projects and programs related to community development and housing consulting services such as affordable housing development, financial analysis related to housing development (including inclusionary housing studies), housing elements, public outreach, and data analysis.

Proven ability to be highly accountable, driven to deliver excellent service to clients, proactive, solution-oriented, and collaborative in an effective and efficient manner.

Extremely detailed oriented and accountability to high quality deliverables and service to clients.

Must be able to multi-task and manage time successfully to meet time-sensitive deadlines, to interact with clients, to train staff, to oversee quality control, and to make presentations to stakeholders.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Advanced writing skills (for reports, memos, etc.) and Microsoft Excel skills

Be proactive, solution-oriented, collaborative, and work well with different team members in an efficient manner.

Be curious and resourceful – proactively seek a deeper understanding of your work and ways to maximize the value for clients.

A Master’s Degree is a plus.

Some infrequent travel within California is required.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary for this position is $110K-140K.
