Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Entry-Level Payroll Clerk to join our payroll team. The ideal candidate will have strong 10-key skills for accurate data entry and a basic understanding of payroll procedures. You will be responsible for processing payroll data, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and input payroll data into the payroll system using 10-key data entry for accurate and timely payroll processing.
Ensure employee timesheets are accurate and complete, confirming hours worked, overtime, and deductions.
Assist with verifying and reconciling payroll-related discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and salary changes.
Calculate and enter deductions, such as taxes, insurance premiums, and retirement contributions.
Assist with preparation of payroll reports and tax filings as required.
Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, paychecks, and deductions.
Support payroll audits and assist in implementing improvements to payroll processes.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in accounting, finance, or human resources is a plus.
Strong proficiency in 10-key data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
Basic understanding of payroll systems and procedures is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and payroll software (experience with ADP, Paychex, or similar is a plus).
