We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Criminal Defense Paralegal to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary:

As a Criminal Defense Paralegal, you will support attorneys in preparing for trial and managing criminal cases. You will assist in case research, drafting legal documents, filing motions, and communicating with clients, courts, and other parties involved in the case. The ideal candidate will have experience in criminal law, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing and drafting legal documents, including motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and trial exhibits.

Conduct legal research to support case strategies, including analyzing case law, statutes, and regulations.

Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and other parties to obtain information and maintain case files.

Prepare and organize case files, documents, and evidence for hearings and trials.

File documents with courts, ensuring deadlines are met.

Prepare discovery, including subpoenas, and assist with gathering evidence for cases.

Manage case calendars and deadlines for multiple cases simultaneously.

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information.

Assist attorneys in trial preparation and attend trials as necessary.

Perform other administrative tasks as required to support the legal team.

Qualifications:

Bilingual (Spanish) not required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a paralegal, with a focus on criminal defense.

Strong knowledge of criminal law, legal procedures, and court rules.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools (LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
