Accounting / Billing Specialist

This is a Direct Hire job working directly for McCarthy and not through a recruiting firm. Full benefits and paid-time-off are offered.

McCarthy is seeking a qualified and dedicated full-time Accounting/ Billing Specialist to support our construction equipment and materials yard and office team. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent customer service and telephone skills, be able to juggle multiple priorities and have a strong attention to detail. This role will be on-site, working from our Corona Office. Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (hours may vary).

Key Responsibilities

Fulfill full-cycle A/P and A/R (tracking invoice approvals, matching invoices to PO’s, submit billings and tracking payments)

Assist Project staff with accounting and maintenance of cost reports.

Coordinate and communicate with Vendors/ Customers as needed.

Set up vendor accounts for the Yard and Jobsites as required.

Process vendor invoices daily in COR360 and reconcile as needed.

Process monthly vendor statements and reconcile as needed.

Track and maintain supplier records/requirements.

Conduct account analysis to identify and resolve discrepancies or issues.

Collaborate with internal team and customers to resolve billing or payment-related inquiries.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of account transactions.

Assist with month-end closing activities.

Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, following company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Must have 3+ years of accounting or billing administrative experience preferably in the construction industry.

Proficient in debits and credits principles.

Knowledge of AP/AR processes and procedures.

Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.

Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends or patterns.

Must have excellent computer skills and be able to demonstrate proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Must be able to work in a fast-paced office environment, able to multitask, meet critical deadlines with an eye for accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to work with all levels of project staff and organization.

Experience with Oracle a plus.
