Position Summary:
The Accounting Clerk supports the Accounting Department by processing invoices, following up on customer payments, recording accounts payable and administrative support.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Invoicing
Match up signed shippers to Sales Orders
Invoice
Create Credit Memos and Back orders from prior day shipments if necessary.
File completed invoices in customer files.
Accounts Receivable
Follow up on payments more than 10 days past due.
Update “Customer Hold List” for Customer Service and Manufacturing
Post Accounting Entries
Post all Invoice, GL, Voucher entries from BME to QuickBooks.
Accounts Payable
Record vendor invoices into BME
Match vendor invoices to PO’s and Receipts
File all paid vendor invoices.
Customer/Vendor Correspondence
Follow-up on customer emails (i.e. Requests for BOL’s, invoices, account balances, etc.)
Follow-up on vendor emails (i.e. Requests at month end for invoices to close, payment requests, etc.)
Experience, Education, Certifications and Licensures:
High School diploma or GED
Basic accounting skills
Capable of meeting deadlines
Ability to multi-task
Good Customer Service Skills
Able to work independently
Based on individual states’ employment laws, the hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate, including experience and location.
