BLUCOR Contracting is a leader in heavy civil construction, specializing in underground utilities, roadwork, and all aspects of infrastructure for new residential and commercial developments. We are looking for a detail-oriented Civil Construction Accounting Administrator to join our team. This role requires expertise in Foundation Software and a strong understanding of accounting for large-scale civil construction projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain financial records, job costing, and reporting for multiple heavy civil construction projects.
Utilize Foundation Software to track project costs, process invoices, and generate financial reports.
Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger entries specific to civil construction.
Assist project managers with budget tracking, cost analysis, and forecasting.
Ensure compliance with construction contracts, lien waivers, prevailing wage laws, and tax regulations.
Prepare and submit reports related to job cost tracking, work-in-progress (WIP), and project profitability.
Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain accurate financial documentation.
Support audits and assist with financial reconciliation for construction projects.
Maintain organized records for all project-related accounting functions.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Foundation Software is required.
Minimum 4 years of accounting experience in heavy civil construction.
Strong knowledge of job costing, project financial management, and construction-specific accounting practices.
Experience with payroll processing, certified payroll, and union reporting.
Familiarity with AIA billing, lien waivers, and construction contract compliance.
Strong computer skills in spreadsheets, word processing, video-conferencing, document scanning and storage, etc.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with project teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with ADOT, municipal, or large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of prevailing wage laws and certified payroll requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
