About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and organized Tool Room Manager to lead all tool room activities, with a strong emphasis on the repair and maintenance of electrical and air-powered tools. This hands-on role also requires effective team management, inventory oversight, and a focus on quality, safety, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be dependable, open to taking direction, patient, trustworthy, and able to work well with others in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

What You’ll Be Doing (but not limited to):

Tool Room Operations & Maintenance

Oversee the daily operations of the tool room, ensuring smooth tool distribution and return processes.

Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of construction tools, especially electrical and air-powered tools (e.g., drills, saws, impact wrenches, compressors).

Maintain and calibrate tools to meet operational standards.

Inventory & Materials Management

Maintain accurate records of tool and material inventory.

Implement and monitor tool control procedures, including min/max levels for tools, fasteners, paint, and other critical materials.

Implement and monitor checkout list of tools/ equipment to verify items are returned.

Order tools, parts, and consumables as needed in coordination with the purchasing department.

Team Leadership & Coordination

Supervise and mentor tool technicians and support personnel within the tool room.

Coordinate closely with site supervisors, production planners, and engineering to ensure tools are available and in top condition to meet job site and project demands.

Quality & Safety

Conduct quality checks on tools and materials before deployment.

Enforce OSHA safety standards and proper material use.

Verify the proper use of materials such as fasteners, paint, and fixtures.

Efficiency & Cost Management

Optimize processes to reduce downtime and control costs.

Manage tool room budgets and propose cost-saving initiatives.

Training & Development

Train staff on tool use, maintenance, and safety protocols.

Drive continuous improvement in tool room operations.

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum 5 years' experience in tool room management, maintenance, or related role in the construction or manufacturing industry.

Proven expertise in repairing and maintaining electrical and pneumatic tools.

Strong leadership skills with experience supervising technical teams.

Solid understanding of inventory systems and basic computer proficiency.

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, tool calibration, and quality control.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

Ability to read Blueprints

Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse environment
