About Our Family

We are a close-knit, joyful family of five with three young children (ages 7, almost 5, and nearly 3), a friendly 1.5-year-old Labrador, and a lively, activity-filled household. Our home sits on a golf course and is full of movement, projects, and a touch of joyful chaos. One parent works from home in a high-level, tech-focused role and frequently travels on short notice, while the other is a stay-at-home parent with a background in early childhood care.

We're looking for a skilled, self-driven house manager/family assistant to bring structure, support, and calm consistency to our days. This person will play a key role in keeping our household running smoothly and supporting both parents and kids in the rhythm of daily life.

While this is not a nanny position, we’d love to find someone who genuinely enjoys being around children and is open to helping with light childcare when needed — such as backup supervision, transitions between activities, or packing for family trips.

Ultimately, we’re hoping to welcome someone who feels like part of the extended family — not just someone who manages tasks, but someone who helps us build a home that feels good, flows well, and creates more space for connection and quality time.

Who You Are

You are calm, steady, and solutions-oriented — someone who thrives in dynamic environments and naturally stays a few steps ahead. You bring thoughtful, grounded energy to the home and notice what needs to be done without needing direction.

Discreet and professional, you respect boundaries and handle sensitive information with care. You communicate clearly, think proactively, and enjoy creating structure that helps busy families thrive.

You’re warm, respectful, and attuned to the needs of children — especially highly verbal, emotionally sensitive kids who benefit from structure and kindness.

You’re also:

Experienced in managing households and supporting active families

Self-directed and able to see projects through from start to finish

Hospitality-minded, making spaces feel organized and welcoming

Tech-literate and fragrance-free (due to sensitivities in the home)

Comfortable with dogs — walking, giving commands, even supervising swims

Respectful of the household and its religious and cultural values

College-educated, articulate, and mature

Open to occasional travel, including trip planning and packing

You’re not just here to check boxes — you’re here to make life smoother, calmer, and more intentional, one system or project at a time

Core Responsibilities

Household Management & Organization

Create and maintain household systems (closets, pantry, storage, kids’ spaces)

Oversee donation drop-offs, mail sorting, and reduce paper clutter (ideally automate bills)

Prep the home for biweekly housekeeping (Mon & Fri mornings)

Manage specialty laundry care, occasional dry cleaning drop-off/pickup

Assist in managing and preparing the guest casita

Track projects and ensure follow-through (we love initiative and improvements!)

Meal Planning & Prep

Plan and prep simple, healthy dinners for the family (5 days/week)

Focus on meals that respect dietary restrictions (two lactose-intolerant individuals)

Organize meal delivery services if needed for flexibility

Prepare light meals/snacks for workdays

Clean up and reset the kitchen after prep

Errands & Inventory

Run errands: groceries, gift shopping, dry cleaning, returns, pharmacy, etc.

Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and other supplies (Amazon, Costco, etc.)

Help research/order furniture, home items, pet supplies

Keep the mail organized and manage home deliveries

Laundry & Linen Care

Wash, fold, and organize clothing, towels, and bedding

Manage linens and seasonal swaps (e.g., wardrobe, bedding, storage)

Iron and steam clothing

Pet Care

Daily walks (weather permitting) and command reinforcement

Supervise pool time/swimming

Coordinate grooming, daycare, and vet appointments

Family Support & Logistics

Occasional backup care or supervision of kids (especially youngest, almost 3)

Pack/unpack kids for activities, travel, or camp

Help keep school paperwork, calendars, and registrations organized (especially for upcoming preschool enrollment)

Assist with finding and coordinating therapists or specialists as needed (e.g., play therapist search)

Car & Home Oversight

Clean, fuel, and organize family vehicles

Schedule and track maintenance (oil changes, inspections, etc.)

Liaise with contractors, builders, and vendors as needed (we’re renovating and need help staying on top of timelines and quality)

Occasional Travel Support

Help with family travel logistics and accommodations

Suggest new ideas and capitalize on opportunities for the family (e.g., glamping with the kids)

Pack/unpack family and children

Possible overnight support during trips
