Ideal candidates have 4-7 years of experience with troubleshooting and making machinery repairs with emphasis in electrical. This is a contract to hire opportunity after 90-days. We pay weekly.
Description:
- Automation Technicians at ECHO are responsible for preventative maintenance of existing automation related equipment, as well as developing and implementing new applications.
- Required to help train and mentor production staff members on relative automation equipment to help with proper understanding and handling of equipment while running production. Equipment shut-down, start-up, re-start, “what to watch for”, etc.
- Must be well versed in machining custom components related to automation equipment, End of Arm Tooling, etc. Must have experience running common tool room equipment such as Bridgeport mills, lathes, welding equipment, band saws, overhead cranes, etc.
- The ability to improvise and come up with common solutions independently, no matter what the issue in front of you.
- Must have all hand tools, electronic tools, etc. to allow for efficient assembly and fabrication of End of Arm Tooling, automation equipment, and complete automation cells. This includes low voltage panel building.
- Must be able to analyze electrical drawings to allow for efficient troubleshooting of production equipment. Must also be able to develop electrical drawings from scratch, using provided software to allow for efficient panel building and automation equipment fabrication and maintenance.
- The ideal candidate must be able to analyze and read detailed 2D and 3D blue prints and designs across a broad range of automation systems.
- 6 axis robotic programming experience is a plus. Primarily, experience with Fanuc automation programming is desired.
- The ability to become proficient in programming CAD/CAM software and Solid Works 3D software to assist in the design and manufacturing of custom automation equipment is a plus.
- Must have experience with diagnosing, programming, and troubleshooting a wide range of PLC and HMI controllers and software. Must be able to self-teach on unfamiliar equipment as necessary.
- Must be able to multi-task. Ability to work on new applications and maintain project deadlines, while continuing to support current production equipment is necessary.
- Must be able to troubleshoot equipment over the telephone with 2nd and 3rd shift employees when necessary. Will be required to return to the factory for troubleshooting and repair at all times.
- Weekly schedule flexibility to help support the manufacturing area as needed is preferred.
- Must exhibit patience and be open minded to new cost reduction and efficiency improvement ideas and requests.
- Maintain and monitor daily 5S practices on automation spare parts cabinets, personal work area, departmental application and machining area, etc.
- Knowledge of gantry mounted robotics, specific to injection molding applications is a plus.
- Experience with maintaining and/or programming automated palletizing systems is a plus.
