Bottom line, we are in the market for a kick a, fun-loving , highly experienced deli manager who seeks adventure in joining us in our journey to revitalize an iconic Phoenix deli. Sort of a needle in the haystack, unicorn search but so be it. Now on with the show….

We are seeking an experienced and personable Deli Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in deli counter service, a passion for customer interaction, and the ability to manage a fast-paced breakfast and lunch take-out environment. As the Deli Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small staff, ensuring food safety standards, inventory control while creating a welcoming environment for our customers. This role requires a hands-on leader who can maintain our high standards and make a mean sandwich in an efficient manner with a smile on your face.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service Excellence:

Ensure every customer receives prompt, friendly, and personalized service. Address customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and a positive attitude.

Team Leadership:

Recruit, train, and supervise deli staff. Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Operational Management:

Oversee daily operations, including food preparation, order fulfillment, and inventory management. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Inventory and Ordering:

Manage inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely deliveries. Monitor product quality and minimize waste.

Financial Oversight:

Assist in budgeting, monitor sales performance, and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.

Community Engagement:

Maintain and strengthen relationships with our loyal customer base. Participate in community events and promotions to enhance the restaurant's presence.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in deli or food service management.

Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent staff training abilities to foster a positive work culture.

Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships effectively.

Passion for customer service and community engagement.

Experience with a deli meat slicer is a plus.

Approx 40 hrs/ week. Pay commensurate with experience to include participation in gratuity / tip pool and annual performance bonus. 10-11 months / year. Go have fun in July and a couple other weeks.
