We're Hiring for a dynamic Hyrbid Role: Kitchen Manager / Owner Assistant & Prep Cook for Local Meal Delivery & Corporate Catering Service

Position Overview We are seeking a Kitchen Manager and Owner Assistant with chef or prep cook experience and a passion for cooking, business & people to oversee events and kitchen production. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a multi-faceted environment, has a passion for food, and knows how to be a part of a team and is organized, motivated, and accountable. You’ll be a key part of shaping the culture and quality of our growing business.
Responsibilities
Oversee and participate in weekly meal prep production—from behind the scenes organization to mise en place to final packaging and deliveries
Manage kitchen training and task delegation as needed
Step in to get the job done right from jumping in where needed to making delivery runs
Ensure recipes are followed with consistency, quality, and portion accuracy
Order inventory and manage ingredient prep lists and deliveries
Maintain a clean, efficient, and food-safe kitchen (Food Safety Manger Card Required after hire)
Collaborate with ownership on weekly menus, kitchen improvements, and process scaling
Observe and implement systems to improve flow and efficiency
Lead by example—in prep, in attitude, and in accountability
Communicate kindly with our incredible customers and represent the brand through community and connection
Oversee our onsite events and work closely with our corporate clients to ensure production, service and food are on point
Requirements
2+ years of culinary experience (passionate home cook, private chef, line cook, prep cook, or various cooking roles)
Knife skills & quick on prep
Prior experience in a supervisory or management role (in or out of the kitchen)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to lift 40 lbs, be on your feet for long shifts, and keep calm under pressure
Knowledge of food safety protocols and kitchen sanitation standards
You will be required to become a Certified Good Safety Manager
You will be required to pass a Kosher Food Test (class provided) and a Food Allergy Course
Experience with spreadsheets, inventory tracking, and kitchen tech tools - better than basic computer skills working mostly with Google Docs & Spreadsheets and our own systems
A get-it-done mindset with the humility to do the dishes when needed

Schedule & Compensation
SCHEDULE (full commitment to this schedule is required, we do offer three Sunday/Monday combos off per year):
Saturday (flexible hours mostly work from home approx. 3-4 hours completed between 9am-6pm, on occasion event work)
Sunday 8:30am-3pm (not flexible and required day to work)
Monday 7am-3:30pm (not flexible and required day to work)
Tuesday off (unless special events)
Wednesday (limited hours or off)
Thursday (10am-2pm or off)
Friday hours 12-8 (no Fridays in the summer months, some Fridays off)
total weekly hours is typically 25-30 hours
